Job Description of the field service medical engineer:

We are looking for a field service engineer to come and join our expanding and well established company. The successful person will provide daily on site repair, preventative maintenance and asset management of medical devices within specified hospital locations.

The role will include supporting customers when ever needed to ensure minimal disruption to the operation of the hospital along with supporting the site team leader in achieving contract KPI'S. It would be the responsibility of the field service engineer to complete all associated administrative work in completing repairs and preventative maintenance as outlined in the company procedures. Building long term relationships with customers, staff and subcontractors to ensure responsiveness and support to customers is a also a major part to the role.

The field service engineer would attend customer meetings when required, responsible for delivering customer satisfaction, also escalating and defining necessary resources to maintain equipment.Enduring Data integrity is very important within this role a long with liaising with 3rd party suppliers for spare part and contract quotations. Overall the field service engineer will be a good ambassador for the company and seek opportunities to grow the business.

Candidate Must Have's for the field service medical engineer:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (HNC minimum qualification)
  • Proven practical experience
  • Ideally based in Hereford/Gloucester
  • Excellent organisational and design skills.

Candidate Nice to have's for the field service medical engineer:

  • Be able to promote internally
  • Knowledge of Quality standards is an advantage
  • Able to write procedures, be familiar with ways to improve productivity and reduce operating expenditure
  • AutoCAD experience would be an advantage
  • Be able to maintain service documentation in line with business requirements.
