Lead Systems Architect

Location; Leuven, Belgium


As Lead System Architect, you will have a key role in this Start-up Medical Device company, helping design, develop and characterize the system for an exciting disruptive technology. 


Responsibilities:

  • You are playing a crucial role in advancing the Technology, taking on in an interesting Project with a highly innovative Medical Technology through from Prototype to Delivery
  • The system is made up of novel technologies and new types of Sensors. This is a system that thas never been seen before and its applications are far-reaching in the Medical Device Industry
  • As Lead Systems Architect you will take the lead in steering the Technology forward from a Hardware perspective,  taking the initiative, being  assertive and keeping a constructive attitude to developments, challenges and providing innovative  and important solutions
  • The Lead Systems Architect will help define the system architecture through system-level models and interacting with very strong research support teams that will be working on other aspects of the system
  • You will help define the specifications for the test boards/circuit boards and the characterization flow for evaluating the system & circuits
  • As the Lead System Architect, you will be the chief engineer for the system-level design, modelling, simulation and testing
  • The Lead System Architect will also be responsible for the FPGA programming and implementation of the control & signal processing algorithms


Required Experience:

  • Minimum of 4 years' experience
  • Strong understanding of system-level languages such as MatLab and/or python
  • High skill in FPGA programming (verilog/vhdl)
  • Familiar with signal processing algorithms and their implementation
  • Experience with test-board characterization and defining procedures and test flows
  • Strong hardware and software integration skills (driver-level experience)
  • Familiarity with circuit layout in spice/cadence
  • Ideally experience with link budget calculation and beamforming systems
  • Ideally, experience working with Ultrasound, Medical Devices, LIDAR, RADAR, or another system with a high data throughput 
  • Ideally Ms.Sc. or PhD. degree
  • Fluent in English
