Abbott Introduces Dorsal Root Ganglion Neurostim System To Europe

23 January 2017

Try saying that 5 times quickly! Abbot have indeed introduced their Proclaim Dorsal Root Ganglion Neurotism System to their European friends.

This revolutionary tool functions to provide one of the most welcome contributions of medical technology to human care – pain relief.

It helps patients suffering with chronic neuropathic pain by targeting the sensory nerves crammed in the dorsal root ganglion directly to the area of pain. The system is said to provide stronger pain relief than the existing method of spinal cord stimulation therapy. Patients can access the company’s Proclaim patient controller platform digitally via an iPod via Bluetooth.

Chronic back and neck pain can cause extreme distress and costs the workforce billions every year. The main issue with spinal cord stimulation therapy is that it doesn’t work for everyone but this offers hope as well as a stronger safeguard against pain.

Abbott claims it is the only medical technology company to offer this function with anesthesiologist Dr. Harold Nijhuis, from the Netherlands welcoming the success of the device stating “….Many patients battling chronic neuropathic pain have not found adequate relief from other forms of treatment….”
