Job Description & Responsibilities of the Technical Engineer:

  • Providing advanced level tier 2 support and services to the companies service staff and external customers for PACS integrations, HL7 mapping, workflow design, hardware and OS support, database changes or troubleshooting
  • Performing system installations and upgrades remotely for customers
  • Working with Project Management to complete system integration and functionality checks
  • Following up with customers on assigned tasks to completion
  • Providing remote system administration for customers as required
  • Recommending best practices to customers
  • Creating documentation for complex customer projects as required
  • Creating and maintaining internal technical documentation as needed
  • Identifying improvements for the companies products/solutions
  • Traveling to customer sites for system upgrades, workflow optimization, environment assessment, technical troubleshooting and training
  • Diagnosing software and hardware malfunctions and working with other members of the Services team and Engineering to identify and resolve problems
  • Participating in technical discussions / calls with customers and third party vendors as required
  • Providing customers with regular status updates when required
  • Independently escalating to and working with Engineering to resolve product issues in a timely manner
  • Working closely with Project Management, Engineering and Support to benchmark, design, implement optimal peerVue solutions

Candidate Must Have's for the Technical Engineer:

  • Candidates with experience working in a medical environment where they are exposed to clinical workflow and have gained an understanding of clinical terminology and processes are preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science; Computer Technology Diploma or equivalent or related experience
  • Good understanding of HL7
  • MCSE and/or A+ Certification an asset
  • Flexibility in working hours to support business needs
  • Experience with IIS and web based applications
  • Practical knowledge of Exchange, LDAP and Active Directory
  • Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Proactive approach to workload and innovative mindset
  • Knowledge of maintaining SQL databases
  • Knowledge of querying database structure and tables
  • Strong time-management and organizational skills
  • In depth knowledge of Windows servers, work stations and networking environment
  • Strong knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, VNC, SSH, PGP, etc.)
