Job Description for the Solutions Architect:

Solutions Architects are the Pre-Sales Technical Specialists for all customers including the larger, more complex customers of the Imaging and Workflow Solutions Group.Solutions Architects are focal points within the Technical Marketing team and work directly with customers and Sales Personnel to perform requirements analysis of potential/existing system environments, prepare detailed configurations and their attendant quotations, and to present the company solution in a way that is meaningful to the customer. They have overall responsibility for integrating the company Radiology or Cardiology system into a customers' specific architecture, and liaising with internal and external personnel to ensure integrity of the company's solution.

Duties and Responsibilities of the Solutions Architect:

Main Responsibilities Include:

  • Liaise with the company Sales Executives on product developments and engineering issues
  • Serve as the "point person" for technical questions from Sales Executives and customers
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, to ensure overall pre-sales project deliverables
  • Knowledge share with other members of the department
  • Imaging and Workflow Solutions (Radiology & Cardiology) back-end architectural design for active tenders and sales
  • Solutions architecture, including technical infrastructure and workflow design
  • Acting as 'Solutions Owner' for all Cardiology and Radiology systems sold in the UK
  • Assist Sales team with technical discussions taking place with existing and new customers during the Pre-Sales process, and as such may be required to travel to customer site to attend Sales meetings and other technical discussions.
  • Prepare and present detailed quotes and system configurations
  • Respond to product inquiries from customers
  • Provide guidance to Sales Executives and consult with customer on solution
  • Respond to customers on the planning and status of orders/quotes
  • Ensure solution/product/component technically meets customer's needs

Qualifications and Experience required for the Solutions Architect:

  • Degree Level Experience (experience also considered) in computing science or related IT discipline
  • Full Driving License
  • Experience of product marketing or PACS service support / implementation
  • Willingness to travel to UK customer sites as required
  • VMware exposure and configuration experience
  • Server / Client hardware configuration experience
  • Oracle DBA qualification or demonstrable practical experience in a work setting.
  • MS Windows Certification (Server and/or Client Based)
  • VMware training and/or certification
  • Radiology / Cardiology PACS Administration
  • Strong analytic and technical skills is required, as well as in depth knowledge of MS Windows Server, MS Windows XP / 7, Oracle / SQL Database, MS Active Directory IIS and Biztalk, and interfacing with
  • Advanced knowledge of DICOM and HL7 standards.
  • Knowledge of HP and DELL server and workstation hardware and NexSAN components, including installation, configuration and troubleshooting.

Critical Skills to havefor the Solutions Architect:

  • Extensive knowledge of IWS Products, System Architecture and integration of IWS solution into customers complex IT infrastructure
  • Extensive Knowledge of 3rd Party/company Products integrating with the IWS product line and their functionality as well as Industry Standards/Initiatives
  • Work at a strategic level when handling accounts (knowing and handling the bureaucracy of the organisation to maximize success)
